Dzulkarnine bin Dato’ Kazim graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance from East London University, London, United Kingdom. He has more than twenty (20) years of experience in capital market especially in the field of investment.
He started his career in the late 90’s as Corporate Finance Executive with Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad while he was pursuing his final stage of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. After more than three (3) years in corporate finance where he gained valuable experience in corporate finance, he joined BBMB Securities Berhad as Investment Analyst. In 1999, he moved to PNS Labuan Limited, a Labuan-based fund management company, as Senior Investment Analyst and later promoted to the position of Head of Investment. Subsequently, he joined Apex Investment Services Berhad (“AISB”), an asset management company, as Senior Fund Manager.
Later, he was hand-picked to set-up a government-linked venture capital company focusing on biotechnology industry called A-Bio Sdn Bhd. The investment mandate of this company is basically to invest in start-up biotechnology companies in Malaysia and overseas. Among the investment successes of this company was the establishment of the first halal collagen factory in Malaysia via collaboration with a Chinese Muslim group from the People’s Republic of China (“China”).
In 2011, he joined Radiant Starfish Development Berhad, a property development company, as Chief Financial Officer. One year later, he re-joined AISB as Chief Investment Office/Executive Director. He was the designated fund manager for the company’s Shariah and Conventional funds.
He joined ACE Group in late 2017 as Chief Investment Officer and his current position is Chief Executive Officer at AIBL. He is also a registered Fund Manager with the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”).
