TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi is currently the 8th Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Penang and a distinguished shareholder of ACE Group for over a decade. Prior to his appointment as Penang’s Yang di-Pertua Negeri, His Excellency served in various capacities within the ACE Group since 2011, notably as Group Chairman of ACE Holdings Berhad and ACE Investment Bank Limited. Over the years, His Excellency had played a pivotal role within the ACE Group through his exceptional leadership, humility and dedication which has resulted in the successful growth of the ACE Group that it is today.
TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi joined the Malaysian Diplomatic and Administrative Service in 1972 and served in various capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 2006 and as Ambassador-at-Large until 2009. Throughout the years, His Excellency served as a diplomat in Moscow, The Hague, Canberra and Washington, D.C. He also headed the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka.
His Excellency also led the Malaysian Senior Official delegation in negotiations at various bilateral, regional and international Conferences as well as in organising the NAM Summit and the OIC Summit in 2003 and the ASEAN Summit plus East Asia Summit and Related Summits in 2005 in Kuala Lumpur.
On the business front, TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi was also formerly Chairman for AsiaEP Bhd, Amanahraya REIT Bhd, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Am Bhd, Apex Equity Holding Bhd and Viva Rail Lines Bhd as well as Deputy Chairman for Asia Development & Investment Bank (ADIB). In addition to that, he was also formerly a director in Maybank Islamic (MIB) Bhd, Maybank Islamic Asset Management (MIAM) Sdn Bhd.
TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi had also contributed in the educational and philanthropical field and held several positions in related organisations such as a Distinguished Fellow for the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) and Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), Deputy Chairman for the Malaysian Member Committee of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP Malaysia) and a member of the Board of Trustee of MERCY Malaysia, Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF), Yayasan Sarana Pendidikan Malaysia (YSPM) and Lejadi Foundation.
In recognition for his services to the nation, TYT Tun Dato' Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi was conferred the SMN (2021), the PSM (2003), the DUPN (2021), the DSLJ - Brunei (2014), the DMPN (2002), DSPN (1999), the JSM (1999) and the AMN (1979).
